Cultural Capabilities and Responsiveness  Workshop 2022

Focus Areas:  Senior Leaders Collaborative Workshop

Where: Central Hawkes Bay College in Marino's classroom and within the wharenui.

Who: School Leader or a staff member who is interested or responsible for this in your workspace.

Facilitated by:  Marino Tiuka

The purpose of this workshop was to provide support to school leaders wishing to critically review the Cultural of their schools and seek meaningful solutions to improve teaching and learning for Māori students

Leaders were asked to reflect on existing beliefs and ideas of how their schools are currently positioned and discuss what room there is for improvement, identify the needs and work collaboratively with other leaders to discuss pathways towards improvement.

While each school has its own character and identity that may make their respective needs unique to them, there may also be areas where schools share similar experiences and requirements.  Collective collaboration will allow leaders to share known strategies and experiences that may prove beneficial to others.
