Purpose:
Support and promote the delivery of effective numeracy & Literacy pedagogy.
Goals:
Research the needs of primary school teaching in numeracy.
Do an audit on the students' needs regarding numeracy teaching and learning.
Support the delivery of mathematics teaching.
To deliver workshop(s) addressing the focal point(s) identified from the audit.
Develop methods to support the application of numeracy in a cross curricular context.
Offer workshop(s) around applying numeracy within the Science and Technology subject areas.
Promote the numeracy skills needed for successful transition into secondary education.
Develop a tool for identifying a standard of numeracy understanding that will promote the successful transition into secondary education.

Maths Workshops 2023
Supporting students who find maths difficult.
Sam Kordan is offering mathematics workshops during terms 1,2, & 3 to anyone interested in ‘supporting students who find maths difficult’. Sam's sessions are fun, interactive and full of great practical ideas to use in the classroom. He willingly shares his resources.

Structured Literacy 2021
District Meeting - Workshop Term 3, 2021
Presenters: Heidi Slavin & Lara Smith Venue: Waipukurau School
Heidi presented an overview of Structured Literacy in a junior classroom and Lara shared her experience in a senior classroom using the Learning Matters iDeaL platform. Lessons in action, planning, resources and support also shared.
